About the artist

From her earliest memories, Eve found solace in art, nurtured by a mother who celebrated every creation and ensured that no art supply was ever out of reach.

As a teenager in 1970s California, while her peers were focused on grades, Eve spent her days lost in the art room, discovering the ancient art of Batiks and jewelry making, filling journals with creative exploration—her first taste of artistic success came when she sold her work at an art show at 16. Being in line for a scholorship to an art school in California and the lure of Emily Carr in Vancouver ,her life changed direction when the envelope came carrying an interview date to CP AIR the next 40 years flew by ;)

Always keeping her toe in the artistic waters, she raised two children, her wild child daughter and her beautiful niece who has Down Syndrome. There are no coincidences and it through her niece, that she had the opportunity to teach photography to a talented group of her nieces friends at their rec and leisure program ,through their community living association.

While flying the world and caregiving, she found the time to nurture her creative soul by running a photography studio, focusing on black and white , hand printed and hand tinted photography. During the debate time of "Is photography art " she confirmed it definitely was. In a time of a world of male photographers, self taught herself how to develop, print and hand colour Black and White portraiture.

Even as personal challenges mounted and her body faltered, Eve’s passion for self-expression led her to the tranquil beauty of Vancouver Island, where she rekindled the joy that art had always brought. Her journey is one of resilience and fierce devotion to caregiving and creativity. Through both adversity and accomplishment, Eve stands as a testament to perseverance—while reminding us all that following our passions can lead to healing, connection, and enduring inspiration.
